How to log in

You can sign in to the computers in the clusters using your Intra credentials. Simply fill in your username and password and click login. The system will then authenticate you using Kerberos, and mount your own personal home drive.

You can only sign in to one computer at a time. When you are signed in, the computer you are signed in to will be displayed on your profile on the Intranet, so that others are able to find you if they need to.

If you can’t log in

If the system was unable to properly log you out previously, or when try to log in on two computers at the same time, you will get an alert that the system was unable to mount your home drive and that it’s now trying to fix the issue automatically.

However, sometimes this troubleshooter is unable to resolve the error. If so, try the following:

  1. Check your Intra profile to see if you’re still signed in elsewhere. If so, sign out on that computer first.
  2. If the issue keeps appearing, try rebooting the computer by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Delete on the keyboard while the login screen is showing.
  3. Check if you get the same error on another computer.
  4. Reach out to the IT team on Slack (Freek Bes) to let them know on which computer(s) you were unable to log in if the issue persists. If the IT team is unavailable, try the pedago team instead.

Logging in for an exam

For an exam, the login process is a little different. Exams use a special session on the computers, you cannot use your own environment and there is no internet available.

To start this special session, simply click the “Start your exam” button on the login screen. This button appears 20 minutes before the exam starts.

Once the exam actually starts, from the special session, launch a terminal and run the “examshell” command. Examshell will prompt you for your Intra username and password, after which you can start your exam - if you signed up properly (for both the event and the project).

If you encounter difficulties logging in on Examshell, use the following tips for help:
